Sweet Sunday

This has been a busy couple month for Seth and I. Ok lets face it, when is life not busy, but seriously. We've been busy. We both work and he goes to school and our schedules are just off. I have a bonafide 2 days off as a whole weekend sometimes, but I'm always trading days off for different reasons and he gets days off here and there, but it seems like its never the same as mine. Its crazy. I don't think we've had the same day free and clear in over a month (minus 2 days over Christmas where technically we didn't because I called in sick for one of those days.) Sigh. No fun.

This weekend was busy as usual with both our work schedules not lining up. I had today, Sunday, off and I'm so happy I did. I used to have to work Sunday morning and run out of there, change in the car and catch some late church where Seth would meet me and we'd have to find eachother in the full chapel. Junk show to say the least.

Our schedules at my job change 3 times/year and you get to pick your schedule based on seniority and job performance. I am fairly new at my job so I've worked my tush off to get the schedule I wanted and have the weekends off. Success. I now have a regular Mon-Fri gig I just work nights still, which I actually like.

So this Sunday off thing is amazing. I woke up, read the paper, relaxed and took my time getting ready for church. I was actually focused and paid attention to the speakers and lessons. I had a notebook with me and actually wrote in it. Amazing. I haven't had that in a long time. I haven't felt focused and present in church in a long time. I have really missed it! I even stayed for choir practice.

Then I was determined to keep the same buzz so I made the resolution to not turn the tv on the rest of the day. I feel like it just sucks my mind out to watch that thing. It was such an awesome day! I got some work done on the computer. Had dinner with the family. Cleaned a little bit. Really felt so good. I have missed my Sundays!
