Since March....
Seth finished winter semester and now he just finished his summer term today. He took a photography class this summer that he loved and spent hours taking photos and talking about pictures all the time. He loves art and photography so he was in candyland. He tried to make me his subject for the day and followed me with a camera for about 5 minutes before the pics were filled with 'I love you, but I want to smack you' looks. He then turned it on our nieces that were visiting and they were much more willing models.
Our traveling DNA has brought us to some fun places in the past few months.
Seth went on a week long snowboarding trip to Tahoe with some friends from LA toward the end of March during his spring break. He loves snowboarding and I was happy to see him scratch that itch. I had to work so I didn't go, but I had my ski trip in December so it was his turn. He had a ton of fun.
I went on a week long Caribbean cruise with my bestie Ms Brianna Dance and her beau. We sailed out of New Orleans which is a FUN town. I flew out there and met them (which, strangely, every time I fly alone I still for an instant think 'I'm really old enough to this kind of thing on my own?!' Yes, I, the world solo traveler still get thoughts like that- young at hearts 4eva!) The cruise went to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Honduras and Belize City. It was the first time that I've sailed in a balcony and let me tell you, its a whole different world from the inside cabins. Its amazing. I spent hours on end sitting in a chair on the balcony just watching the ocean and reading. It was so great to have some zen time.
I also took a trip to Vegas for work. Yes, for work. How cool is that?! My company works in conjunction with Harrah's casinos and gives away cruises. I went to sit at a desk for a few hours a day and hand out vouchers. Easy peasy and the weekend came with a free hotel room and daily spending at Harrah's properties. What?! I felt like I won the lottery. So fun.
Seth and I also took our own little weekend trip to Vegas about a month ago to get some vacation time together. We scored a good deal on a hotel room and spent our days walking the strip, shopping at the outlets, seeing some shows and exhibits and just 'enjoying the general spledor'. We gambled a little and lost a little, but came away refreshed and happy. It was our first for real vacation together since our honeymoon. Yeah we've done roadtrips and car camping nights, but a for real hotel vacation more than a few hours from home kind of vacation. We felt so married.
In other recent news, we are almost home owners. It has been a horribly long, drawn out process, but we have a house with a closing date we're just waiting for the loan and all the million signatures and documents to come together. Its a heap of paperwork that you could wallpaper the Vatican with. We'll keep you posted with pics and excitement as soon as everything is final.

We are happy and excited for the coming months. See you soon bloggers. Promise this time.
